"Growing up, I never liked going to the doctor. As a young child, I remember being afraid. As an older child and young adult, I never felt connected to my doctor. I wanted to be different. After college, I did genetic research for a few years and realized a life in the lab was not for me. That is when I decided to become a physician assistant. I always wanted to work in family practice, and I couldn't be happier. I love taking care of families-parents, children, grandparents, cousins, etc. What I want my patients to know about me:Family is extremely important to me. I have a wonderfully supportive husband and a beautiful daughter. I have the best mom is the world, which is great because I'm like her more and more every day. I lost my father to an illness in 2010, and I'm proud to say that we can still smile every day even though we miss him very much. I often describe my life as being super busy, but I wouldn't want It any other way. I spend much of my time being a ""swim mom"" as I take my daughter to and from practice, cheer for all the swimmers, and volunteer during swim meets. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:In my spare time I enjoy photography and scrapbooking. The one think I really dislike is cooking. I'm a terrible cook, and even heating up leftovers is a chore. My family and I also love to travel. One of our favorite places to visit is Disney World, and we are always planning our next trip. I love visiting U.S. National Parks, and as my daughter gets older we will be planning more adventures. My favorite vacation so far was to Yellowstone National Park.".
