Philosophy of care | My philosophy of care is highly influenced by my parents and my background in sports medicine. My parents raised me to be a good listener and treat everyone with respect. Sports medicine taught me the benefits of teamwork, the importance of working with you on your treatment waypoints, and the ultimate goal of keeping you as physically active as is safely possible. | Why I entered medicine | I see my career in medicine as a gift: I can help others by using my academic foundation and interpersonal skills to communicate and teach. Providing guidance and direction to others as part of a team has always been important to me. As a youth I was fortunate to meet and develop relationships with very dedicated health care professionals. Those relationships sparked my desire to study medicine. | Community involvement | Over my entire professional career, I have served as a team physician for numerous school districts, as well as a physician for the PIAA at the district, regional and state levels for wrestling and for track and field. I have also done volunteer work for several benevolent organizations. | Personal interests | In my free time I enjoy training my two Labrador retrievers and participating in various outdoor activities.
