I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has past experience working with adolescents with co-occurring substance use disorder and mental health diagnosis. I have found self fulfillment working with patients by creating an environment where they feel secure with a sense of safety, privacy, and above all, understood. My practice is centered complete understanding of a patient, from physical health to work and home life, considering mental health treatment in context to the individual.Currently I am working at Melrose Center with a focus on treating eating disorders and co-occurring disorders. My medical career started in 2002 when I enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman and later, after leaving the military, I became an ICU nurse. During my nursing career I took interest to the mental health needs of my patients and pursued studies for my graduate degree from Sage College of Albany, NY in 2017. I grew up in Central Texas and have moved numerous times in my life around the US while serving in the US Navy. I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and I have been married 5 years. I like to travel and have a goal of seeing New Zealand some day. I have done volunteer work with the VA during my college years and would like to do similar work in the near future.
