It’s satisfying, he says, to treat a fracture and watch it heal. When John, an East Tennessee native, sees patients, he likes to relate to them as he would a friend or family member. Listening is also part of his practice; patients have to feel heard for them to take ownership of their health. Otherwise, he says, trust is lost and they’re less likely to follow their treatment plan. Mountain biking, snowboarding and listening to podcasts fill his free time, and he enjoys exploring new places with his wife and their three children.
