Originally from Lima, Peru, Dr. Garibay completed his medical degree and OB/GYN residency at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima. Then, he worked as a research fellow in urogynecology at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Weston, Florida before moving to Cleveland, Ohio to complete an OB/Gyn residency at Case Western Reserve University - MetroHealth. After completing his residency, Dr. Garibay joined the faculty at MetroHealth as an OB/Gyn generalist. He was an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University and the Labor and Delivery Director.Dr. Garibay participated in resident and medical student education and won several awards including: National Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education [ACOG], Excellence in Resident Education - Case Western Reserve University, Excellence in Medical Student Teaching [APGO], Award for Best Faculty Teaching in Resident Education- Case Western Reserve University, Resident Award for Teaching Excellence - Case Western Reserve University, AUGS Award for Excellence in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.His clinic interests include obstetrics, including high-risk, benign gynecology, minimally-invasive surgery, menopause and pelvic floor disorders.“I’m a good listener and strive to provide the best care for my patients through shared decision making.”When not working, Dr. Garibay enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar and hiking.
