During residency at the University of Utah, he pursued further learning in global mental health and developed specific interests in the management of treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder, and substance use.Dr. Mitchell served as chief resident during his final year of training at the University of Utah in 2016-2017 prior to transitioning to his outpatient adult psychiatry practice with Intermountain Union Park Psychiatry and Counseling.Dr. Mitchell is from the upper Peninsula of Michigan where he developed a passion for the outdoors at a young age. Athletics provided a great platform for him to develop an appreciation for friendships and connecting with others. He continued his athletic pursuits as a collegiate swimmer during his undergraduate studies.
