Dr. Julian Macedo, MD was born in Colorado City, Texas, and received his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Science Center. He trained in Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University Health Sciences Center and completed fellowships in Neurocritical Care and Anesthesia Critical Care at University of Cincinnati. Since completing training, Macedo has been a practicing intensivist at the University of Utah Hospital and now is a full-time Neuro-Intensivist and CV Intensivist with TriHealth. His practice specializes in the care of the critically ill, with a special focus on the neurologically injured and critically ill cardiothoracic surgery and cardiovascular population, including those requiring mechanical circulatory support with ECMO and temporary & durable VAD devices. Macedo's other interests include medical education, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and diversity in medicine.Dr. Macedo is a member of American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), Neurocritical Care Society (NCS) and Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). Dr. Macedo is board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Neurocritical Care, and Anesthesia Critical Care.
Dr. Macedo is board certified in American Board Of Emergency Medicine - 2015, American Board Of Internal Medicine - 2021, and American Board Of Anesthesiology - 2018. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 3 peer reviewed articles.
