As a Colorado native and orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Justin Newman understands the value of an active lifestyle. His practice uses innovative, research-based techniques to help patients return to sports, work, and activity as quickly and safely as possible. He specializes in treating sports injuries and preserving the function of the hips, knees, and shoulders. His commitment to patients begins with the first visit and continues through recovery. Originally from Holyoke, Colorado, Dr. Newman grew up farming and ranching in a small community. He attended the University of Denver on a Boettcher Foundation Scholarship, where he gained international experience through research in the Galapagos Islands and studies in London and Chile. He earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and traveled to Peru to research the doctor-patient relationship. He also completed a year of orthopedic trauma research at Denver Health Medical Center. Dr. Newman completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Colorado, followed by a prestigious fellowship at the Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail. There, he treated professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, English Premier League, Ironman, and U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams. He now serves as a consultant team physician for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association at both national and international events.
