Dr. Katherine M. Dugan

Dr. Dugan grew up in North Georgia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. She graduated from Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia, with a bachelor’s in biology. She spent the next few years working as a scribe in the emergency department at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. In 2020, she earned her Doctor of Medicine from Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah. After medical school, Dr. Dugan moved to Colorado to complete her training at St. Mary's Family Medicine Residency. She loves working with young adults, helping patients who struggle with addiction, patients with chronic pain, and those with psychiatric illnesses such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, etc. Dr. Dugan places huge importance on preventive medicine, including the staples of a good diet and exercise, vaccines, and mental health.“I see many patients who have had trauma from dealing with the medical system, and I have also experienced this, which is why one of the founding principles of my personal philosophy as a family medicine doctor is to listen and truly hear what my patients are saying, what their goals are, and what they can envision for themselves in the future. Only once a path of mutual understanding is established can the true work of healing begin. I often think outside the box. I want to brainstorm with you, and I want us to devise a plan to move forward together. I will never judge you for being honest with me, and I love it when you ask questions.”Dr. Dugan enjoys hanging out with her dogs and husband, playing Dungeons and Dragons, exploring new hikes, making tie-dye projects and any kind of art, and camping with friends in her free time.

Her clinical expertise encompasses Meckel's Diverticulum and Choriocarcinoma.
