Overview
I worked as a nurse for almost 18 years and then returned to school to earn my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. Most of my early career was spent supporting patients in emergency departments and in pediatric hospitals. Now, as a family nurse practitioner, I especially love taking care of kids. With more than 12 years of nursing experience in emergency medicine, I'm glad I can be there for people who need me. My passion is serving people in immediate need of medical help when other options are not available; urgent care helps to fill the gap between a daytime clinic and emergency care. I like working with patients to help them make good choices for their health care. Besides supporting patients, I currently teach advanced certification classes in health care provider CPR, trauma nursing care and pediatric advanced life support. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. I am a member of the following professional associations: * American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) * Minnesota Nurse Practitioners (MNNP) * Emergency Nurses Association (ENA).
