Dr. Kayla DeSuza is a fellowship-trained hematologist and oncologist with Orlando Health Cancer Institute. Her specialties include: Blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma Gastrointestinal cancers Lung cancers Noncancerous blood disorders Urologic cancers Dr. DeSuza strives to provide compassionate and respectful care. She believes that understanding her patients’ social, mental and physical well-being enables her to provide the best possible treatment. Dr. DeSuza’s Training Dr. DeSuza graduated magna cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in biological sciences and in neuroscience and behavior from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. She earned her osteopathic medicine degree at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama, and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/HCA Florida JFK Hospital in Atlantis, Florida. Her training continued with a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, where she served as chief fellow in her final year. About Dr. DeSuza Dr. DeSuza is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Her professional memberships include the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology. Outside of work, Dr. DeSuza enjoys spending time with family and friends. She served as captain of her collegiate golf team and continues to play for fun.
Dr. Desuza is board certified in American Board Of Internal Medicine. She is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 2 peer reviewed articles.
