Ketti Petersen, MD is the physician lead for the Palliative Care and Supportive Oncology Clinic at the Rogel Cancer Center. She has a dual appointment in the Department of Family Medicine and Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Care. Dr. Petersen is also part of the Adult Inpatient Palliative Care consult team. She is board certified in Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine.Dr. Petersen earned her Medical Degree at University of Michigan where she subsequently completed residency in Family Medicine. She then went on to complete a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at University of Michigan in 2014, and has been on faculty at Michigan Medicine since.Dr. Petersen’s area of clinical focus and expertise is in advanced symptom management in oncology and chronic terminal conditions, including pain management, refractory nausea, disease-related fatigue, and poor appetite. She is interested improving quality of life in the setting of advanced cancer diagnoses. She is also engaged with medical teaching to improve education in end of life care and symptom management.
Dr. Petersen is board certified in Family Medicine and Hospice & Palliative Med. She is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 3 peer reviewed articles.
