Overview
I have enjoyed a unique career in medicine. Joining the Air Force upon graduating from high school, I became a medic and helped establish a coronary care unit at my first duty station. I enjoyed working in coronary care and upon completion of service, I enrolled in Baylor College of Medicine where I became a physician assistant (PA), specializing in cardiac care. I worked as a physician assistant while I attended medical school. Upon graduation from medical school at the University of New Mexico, I became a resident physician at Duke. After completing my medical training, I managed a busy private practice in New Mexico. In 1999, I was recruited back to Duke and have been the Director of the Executive Health Program since 2000. My personal interests revolve around spending time with my friends and family (I have a new Grandson!) and, of course, supporting Duke athletics!.
