Overview
Dr. Mahoney earned his medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. He completed anobstetrics and gynecology residency with Riverside Health System, where he received the Resident Award for Excellence in Obstetrics from the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Motivated by a desire to support and improve reproductive outcomes in our community, Dr. Mahoney approaches his medical practice with a high regard for education and partnership. With expertise in a wide range of benign and complicated pregnancies, he specializes in pregnancy ultrasound, hypertension during pregnancy, hysteroscopic sterilization, and minimally invasive and transvaginal surgery. A proud Hampton Roads nativeand Virginia Tech Hokie, Dr. Mahoney grew up on the Southside and still enjoys thebeautiful coastal scenery and strong family-oriented communitiesof Tidewater. Outside of work, Dr. Mahoney’s interests include history, film, camping and hiking.
