Born in Bloomington, Ind., Dr. Oluyemisi Adeyemi-Fowode grew up in Nigeria and Botswana. She returned to the United States to earn her undergraduate degree in chemistry from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisc., and finished her medical degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison. She completed both her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in pediatric and adolescent gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Adeyemi-Fowode is board certified in obstetrics/gynecology. She has been in practice since 2009, specializing in diagnostic testing and treatment of a wide variety of acute and complex gynecological conditions that affect pediatric and adolescent girls. She takes a multidisciplinary and holistic approach to care that focuses on the physical and emotional health of her patients. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of several professional organizations including the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. She is also the author of multiple research papers on pediatric and adolescent gynecology, has co-written books about congenital genital anomalies and heavy menstrual bleeding and serves as a reviewer for medical journals.
