Overview
I appreciate the opportunity to partner with my patients and their families early during a life changing event to help them navigate through their challenges and give them the best possible outcome. I believe in open and honest communication between myself and my patients.|My special clinical interests are in acute trauma and post traumatic “cold” trauma including deformity correction due to infection or bones that do not heal or have healed improperly from previous injury.|Why I Love My Work|My favorite part about my job is connecting with patients and discussing their expectations and goals. I also love the camaraderie with my partners and team.|Growing up, my mother worked as a nurse and absolutely loved her job and the connections she had with people. Seeing the impact her patients had on her life made me interested in a career in medicine. When I was a young teen, I was injured playing sports and that experience led me to an interest in orthopedics. Later, in graduate school, I became interested in trauma after researching and learning about the biology of fracture repair.|I chose CentraCare because of their unique relationship with the University of Minnesota. Their dynamic relationship allows for mutual growth, education, and care.|Getting to Know Me|I grew up in Northern Michigan. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, and with my husband and our children.
