I provide care for patients with advanced liver disease, as well as those pre- and post-liver transplantation. I strongly believe in a team-based approach to treating patients and building strong, long-lasting relationships between patients and their care team. I am passionate about staying up to date with current education, research, and treatments, and providing high-quality care. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, adventuring outdoors, and exercising.

I am proud to serve as the Chief of the Duke Division of Gastroenterology. In addition to my administrative duties, I enjoy my clinical practice focused on the care of patients with liver diseases. Much of my work is with patients who have had liver disease for a long period of time. Of particular interest, I enjoy helping women with liver-disease related issues, especially those who are pregnant or seeking to become pregnant and have chronic liver disease. A number of liver transplant patients are women of childbearing age, and I have a passion for trying to help them understand what it would mean to become pregnant and pursue motherhood with that kind of medical history.
