
Overview
Dr. Drach specializes in hospice and palliative care medicine at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She was one of the founding members of and serves as the division chief for the pediatric palliative care program at the hospital. She joined the hospital staff as a bedside nurse in 1994. Dr. Drach won the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital clinical collaboration and teamwork award in the 2016 Johns Hopkins Medicine Clinical Awards. Dr. Drach serves on the hospital’s Donor Advisory Committee, Physician Advisory Committee, and the Ethics and Advocacy Council. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine and American Academy of Pediatrics. She is actively involved in research and quality improvement in hospice and palliative care medicine. She is the program director for the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship, which started in July 2018. Dr. Drach earned a B.S in nursing from Florida State University, M.S. in nursing from University of Tampa and a doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Stapleton completed her medical training at St. Louis University School of Medicine, residency training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Stapleton also served 13 years in the United States Air Force. Dr. Stapleton is a member of the American Board of Pediatrics, the Children’s Oncology Group, the Society of Neuro-Oncology, American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and America Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
