Philosophy of care | My philosophy hinges on collaboration with patients and communication within the health care team to provide patient-centered, empathetic care. By considering patients holistically and focusing on education and advocacy, I aim to optimize their outcomes and prevent disease progression before it becomes an issue. | Why I entered medicine | Establishing relationships with patients and their families is deeply fulfilling to me. With my background as an RN in critical care and experience working with individuals in their homes, I have witnessed the consequences of poor disease management and inadequate preventive care. These issues often stem from a lack of knowledge, so my goal is to empower patients with the information needed to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. | Community involvement | Community service has been a cornerstone of my life, from earning the Presidential Student Service Award in high school to serving as the community service chair of my university’s Student Nurse Association. I am committed to serving my community any way I can. Currently, I volunteer with the Adalyn Rose Foundation, supporting families affected by pregnancy and infant loss. I also aspire to serve with an international organization that provides medical care worldwide. | Personal interests | I am passionate about nature and the outdoors. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, glamping and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit in my backyard. When not outdoors, I bring nature indoors by caring for my many houseplants. Additionally, I enjoy time with my family, cooking and reading.
