Originally from El Salvador, Dr. Alfaro Cruz has loved science and children since she was a teenager. At 18, she made rounds with her pediatrician, observing malnourished children gain strength and vitality from the caring medical treatment they received. Now, as a pediatric gastroenterologist, she helps kids achieve the best quality of life possible as they battle an illness or chronic disease. As an ETSU Health clinician, Dr. Alfaro Cruz also serves as a faculty member of ETSU's Quillen College of Medicine.
