Dr. Lisa C. Pickett

I practice surgical critical care and serve as the Chief Medical Officer at Duke University Hospital. In my clinical role, I see patients who have had large operations, trauma or transplants and require critical care. I appreciate the opportunity to interact with patients and their families during what is often a time of crisis because I am often allowed to be a part of their family’s decision-making process. My hope is that this care and communication leads to healing and health or provides them comfort and compassion at the end of their journey. It’s a very special opportunity that I do not take for granted.

Dr. Pickett is board certified in American Board Of Surgery, Surgical Critical Care. She is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 5 peer reviewed articles.
