Dr. Dipankar Mukherjee is a specialty care physician board certified in general and vascular surgery and serves as Chief of Vascular Surgery at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Dr. Feng combines her expertise with compassion to support children and families through every stage of their treatment. She is especially interested in helping families navigate prenatal diagnoses and treating congenital conditions such as lung or chest lesions, abdominal cysts, hernias, abdominal or pelvic masses and other intestinal conditions. Dr. Feng is an assistant professor of surgery and pediatrics at the George Washington School of Medicine & Health Sciences. In addition to clinical care, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications to advance the treatment of children with pediatric diseases and participates in multi-centered research consortium studies. She is active in research and quality improvement initiatives aimed at advancing pediatric surgical outcomes at Children's National Hospital. In addition, she is enthusiastically engaged in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents and fellows on the surgical service. Dr. Feng received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed her general surgery residency at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. She did a two-year research fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, during which she focused on tissue engineering in esophageal atresia and gastroschisis, translational research, as well as clinical outcomes and quality improvement in appendicitis and colorectal diseases. Dr. Feng completed her pediatric surgery fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
