I am a pediatrician with over 30 years of experience treating children from birth through 21 years of age. I see children for well visits and acute sick visits. I also do consultations for ongoing health problems and mental health issues. I try to make the child the main focus of the visit and gather pertinent history from the child or young adult. I enjoy helping parents with managing the care of newborns as well as talking with adolescents about their current and future plans. My experience of raising three children of my own has provided me with valuable insights on caring for and raising children. In my spare time, I enjoy attending major and minor league baseball games as well as Duke basketball games.

My research focuses on helping children live their healthiest life possible through nutrition, activity, and engagement in community activities.
