
Overview
Dr. El Asmar is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She serves as the Unit Medical Director for Meyer 8 and Meyer 9. In this role, Dr. El Asmar oversees clinical operations of two of the largest hospitalist units, fosters collaboration amongst the multi-disciplinary team and ensures delivery of high quality, patient-centered care. She also works closely with nursing staff, care management and other team members to enhance communication, standardize and streamline processes within the units. Dr. El Asmar earned her medical degree from the American University of Beirut and completed residency training in internal medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, prior to joining the hospitalist division. Dr. El Asmar brings years of clinical experience and a commitment to excellence in patient care. She is particularly passionate about transitions of care, multi-disciplinary work and advancing quality improvement initiatives. In addition to her role as Unit Medical Director, Dr. El Asmar actively participates in hospital-wide committees focused on patient and staff safety, quality improvement, and utilization management.
