Philosophy of care | My philosophy is based on caring for the whole person, having been trained in the cura personalis doctrine at Georgetown University. I spend time with you and carefully listen to your needs before making recommendations. I partner with my patients and their families on the best course of action. | Why I entered medicine | I am passionate about helping children and teens. I have worked in children's hospitals and rural health clinics since I graduated high school. I find medicine is the best way of helping others heal and find well-being. | Community involvement | My life’s work has been around population health, community health and understanding and bridging health disparities to ensure equity in medicine. I have work 10 years with rural communities in the Washington, D.C. area. I provide research, outreach and advocacy as a community pediatrician. My latest projects focused on the toll trauma takes on the mental health of immigrant teens. I am helping create integrated mental health clinics in community settings. | Personal interests | When not working I enjoy adventures with my two boys. I love the outdoors and enjoy biking, running, hiking and yoga. I am a creative cook who likes dancing and traveling to learn about new cultures.
