Philosophy of care | I feel that treating the whole patient is very important in medicine. A disease or diagnosis can affect people very differently, so individualized treatment plans are the norm. To find the best way to treat you, I first consider your personal needs and how your diagnosis and treatment may affect other aspects of your life. | Why I entered medicine | I got into pediatrics because I have always enjoyed working with children. My mom was a special education teacher. After working during high school and college as a nurse technician at a long-term care facility for medically complex children, I knew I wanted to go into medicine, specifically pediatrics. During training I cared for children who had gastrointestinal disorders, including intestinal failure and inflammatory bowel disease, sparking my interest and passion in gastroenterology. | Personal interests | I love spending time with my husband, 2-year-old daughter and French bulldog Linus. Together we love to travel and explore new places. In my spare time I love to cook and bake. I also enjoy photography and snowboarding. Ms. Fitz is highly rated in 1 condition, according to our data. Her clinical expertise encompasses Lactose Intolerance, Malnutrition, Delayed Growth, and Bowel Incontinence.
