Philosophy of care | Because various types of dementia can impact the entire family, I consider the entire family unit as I approach diagnosis and management of the disease. I have been the principal investigator in many studies attempting to find new treatments for Alzheimer's, the most common form of dementia, because of the importance of finding a medication that truly modifies its course. | Why I entered medicine | I studied medicine to make a difference in the quality of health care delivered. I specifically was interested in the care of older adults. | Community involvement | I am active at church and support Meals on Wheels. | Personal interests | My family is my priority. I also spend free time doing fresh and saltwater fishing, landscape photography and traveling.
