Dr. Marissa Ognibene

Marissa Ognibene, APN, FNP-C, is a compassionate and dedicated advanced practice nurse specializing in hematology and oncology. Her journey into medicine was deeply personal—sparked by childhood experiences supporting her mother through cancer treatment. The comfort and kindness shown by nurses during that time left a lasting impression, inspiring Marissa to become the kind of provider who ensures patients feel seen, supported, and safe. Marissa views medicine as a collaborative puzzle, and she finds purpose in helping her patients piece together their unique health journeys. Her passion for oncology stems from a desire to shift the narrative around cancer. She strives to empower patients, helping them take control of their care and supporting them through both the challenges and victories of treatment. A proud member of the AtlantiCare team for nine years, Marissa began her career as a patient care technician while earning her nursing degree. She worked as a registered nurse during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, which further motivated her to pursue her Master’s degree and become a Family Nurse Practitioner. She was the only student in her graduating class to pursue this certification, allowing for a uniquely tailored academic experience and strong mentorship from faculty. In practice, Marissa is driven by her patients’ resilience and is committed to delivering care that enhances their quality of life. Whether it’s managing complex symptoms or simply being a reassuring presence, she measures her success by the difference she makes each day. Outside the clinic, she enjoys volunteering in a special education classroom, teaching children about health and inspiring the next generation of medical professionals.
