Overview
I specialize in minimally invasive surgery, including vaginal hysterectomy, total laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic fibroid surgery (laparoscopic myomectomy), laparoscopic Essure removal and office hysteroscopy for diagnosis and treatment of menstrual disorders. I give lectures on contraception and minimally invasive surgery, and train other doctors on these techniques. I spend about half of my practice caring for both high- and low-risk pregnancies. I encourage VBAC in appropriate candidates and vaginal delivery of twins. I was the University of Minnesota OB-GYN residency site director at Methodist Hospital from 2014 until 2019, when I assumed the position of Methodist Hospital vice chair of the OB-GYN team at Park Nicollet. The most important element of my care is making sure patients understand what is going on with their health, their options for treatment and the advantages or disadvantages of each alternative. In the same way an attorney or an accountant helps clients understand legal or tax questions, my goal is to provide information that is easily understood so patients can make informed decisions that best meet their needs.
