Dr. Matthew Bauer

Matt Bauer, MD, is a fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon. He enjoys treating the whole spectrum of pediatric orthopedic conditions from hip dysplasia and trauma to congenital and acquired deformities of the hands and feet. He believes in providing compassionate care to his young patients, whether through surgical or nonsurgical procedures. He also educates his patients about ways to avoid further orthopedic injury.Dr. Bauer earned his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, PA, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He performed a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles before moving to New Jersey and joining Atlantic Medical Group.Author of several publications in peer-reviewed orthopedic journals, Dr. Bauer has presented his research at national conferences. He is a candidate member in the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America, and a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.An active member of Pride Ortho, an organization dedicated to increasing visibility, advocacy, and mentorship for LGBTQ+ members of the orthopedic surgery community, Dr. Bauer is on its Mentorship and Communications committees.
