Matthew R. Sullivan, NP

Matthew Sullivan, APN, is an advanced practice nurse specializing in hematology and oncology. His journey into medicine began in 2013 when he enrolled in EMT-B training, driven by a deep desire to help people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. As he advanced from EMT to registered nurse and now to advanced practice nurse, Matthew developed a profound respect for human biology and a keen interest in how disease affects the body’s function. His clinical philosophy centers on treating the whole person—not just the diagnosis—through compassionate, respectful, and evidence-based care. Matthew’s passion for hematology and oncology is rooted in the depth of knowledge the specialty demands, and the opportunity it provides to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and their families. His background in emergency nursing sharpened his ability to think critically, act decisively, and communicate clearly—skills that continue to shape his oncology practice today. Moving from episodic care to oncology has allowed him to become a steady presence in his patients’ care journeys. In his day-to-day practice, Matthew focuses on delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care that considers not only physical health but also emotional and social well-being. He brings a unique strength in communication, a skill he has refined over years of experience, to build trust, foster understanding, and support informed decision-making.
