Dr. Mckenzie L. Griffo

Board-certified physician assistant McKenzie Griffo focuses on orthopedic surgery and shoulder and upper extremity issues. McKenzie earned a Master of Physician Assistant Practice from Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. After experiencing her own injuries as a college athlete and as a professional dancer/aerialist, McKenzie empathizes with the unique struggles that come with injuries. She also became fascinated with orthopedics and the recovery process. McKenzie strives to collaborate with her patients, making sure they understand their injury, care options and the process of healing and recovery. Then, she incorporates their values and goals to develop the best personalized care plan – so they can get back to enjoying their lives to the fullest. McKenzie grew up in Virginia Beach and then traveled internationally as a performer, including a stint as a Miami Dolphins cheerleader. She returned home as she began her career in health care. She enjoys living close to family, being near the ocean and having access to all the outdoor experiences available in the area. She also appreciates being surrounded by numerous educational opportunities and serving the community where she grew up through providing healthcare. McKenzie is active in the performing arts community. She also enjoys spending time on the water, traveling and riding rollercoasters at Busch Gardens. Her sports teams are the Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami.
