Megan Burger, DO, is a board-certified general surgeon. She treats adolescents and adults for conditions such as inguinal and abdominal wall hernias, biliary disease, diverticulitis, benign anorectal disease and skin and soft tissue lesions. She performs open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery.|“I love the relationships that I can have with my patients and the ability to fix their problems,” she says. “I also love teaching and working with surgical residents.”|Dr. Burger earned her medical degree at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She followed that with a general surgery residency at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre.|“I had always wanted to become a doctor, but I specifically wanted to become a surgeon because I liked the problem-solving aspect of the job, and I like being able to instantly fix a problem,” she says. “Needing to have surgery can be a scary time in someone’s life, and I like building that relationship with my patients to be there for them on a stressful day.”|A Pennsylvania native, Dr. Burger grew up in Bellefonte.
