Dr. Melissa Taylor

Dr. Melissa Taylor is a medical oncologist who cares for patients with breast cancer across all stages of diagnosis and treatment. She develops personalized treatment plans, provides ongoing support and guidance, and partners with patients to help them navigate their medical journeys. Understanding that her patients may feel overwhelmed at times, she strives to approach care with empathy, clear communication, and respect for individual goals and values. Taylor's research looks at how to improve outcomes for people with breast cancer, focusing especially on treatment side effects, health care disparities and expanding access to clinical trials (studies of promising new therapies). She is committed to making treatment not only more effective but also more tolerable and accessible. Taylor earned her medical degree and a master of public health degree at Emory University, where she also completed residencies in internal medicine as well as in public health and general preventive medicine. She completed a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Yale School of Medicine. Outside of work, Taylor is a devoted dog mom and avid traveler. She enjoys exploring both the city and nature, taking in the Bay Area's beautiful weather, staying active, discovering new places to eat, and unwinding with a good book.
