Dr. Michael A. Carranza

Dr. Michael Carranza is a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist with Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute. His specialties include: Gastroesophageal reflux disease Constipation Abdominal pain H. pylori infection Acute and chronic liver disease Gastrointestinal bleeding Inflammatory bowel disease Dr. Carranza enjoys the art of medicine as much as the science, and he strives to provide the highest-quality patient-centered care. Dr. Carranza’s Training Dr. Carranza earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology at the University of Florida in Gainesville and received his osteopathic medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University in Davie. He also earned a master of medical sciences in pharmacology at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Carranza completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, where he served as chief resident his final year. He completed a gastroenterology fellowship with HCA Healthcare and the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson. About Dr. Carranza He is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His professional memberships include the American College of Physicians, American Gastroenterology Association, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, American Medical Association and American Osteopathic Association. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, hockey, hiking, canoeing, traveling and science fiction.

His clinical expertise encompasses Ascites, Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, and Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH).

Dr. Carranza is board certified in AB Internal Medicine - Internal Medicine and AB Internal Medicine (Gastroenterology). He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 5 peer reviewed articles.
