Philosophy of care | My job is different than, say, a primary care doctor because I have a very brief encounter with you. My philosophy would be to make you comfortable and cared for. I want to make sure you understand what is happening to you and what will happen to you in the coming weeks. | Why I entered medicine | I wanted to be a fireman until I was 3 or 4 years old. But I have a picture of myself at 5 under the Christmas tree with a doctor’s kit, and from that point on that’s all I ever wanted to do. When I was a kid, my family doctor was wonderful. He was very caring and incredibly thorough. I had mild medical issues as a child, and the ear, nose and throat doctor I used to see for my ears was wonderful. He explained things to me as a kid who was 8 or 9 years old, and that was impactful on me. It modeled good medical care and good communication skills. | Personal interests | I love sports and am an avid Philadelphia sports fan. I love music. Growing up, I played percussion. I love to read, a lot of historical stuff. I used to love to run a lot. I’m trying to get back into that.
