Dr. Miriam Henry

Dr. Miriam Henry is a board eligible Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with specializedexpertise in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. She is dedicated to a patient-focusedapproach, tailoring surgical and non-operative care to each patient's phase of life andneeds. Dr. Henry treats patients with various reconstructive needs, including those aftermassive weight loss, cancer treatments, burns, or trauma resulting in scars. She alsoprovides comprehensive care for peripheral nerve injuries and a wide range of hand andupper extremity issues.A Louisiana native, Dr. Henry earned her medical degree from Louisiana StateUniversity Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Shreveport, LA. She completedher integrated Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Kentucky, followed by aspecialized Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at the University of Mississippi MedicalCenter in 2023. Demonstrating her exceptional knowledge, she achieved a score in the 91stpercentile on her American Board of Plastic Surgery written boards. Beyond her extensivetraining, she is ACLS and ATLS Certified and holds a Kentucky Medical License. Helpingothers recover and enjoy their day-to-day lives is the most rewarding aspect of her work,underpinning her commitment to each patient's journey.Dr. Henry is actively involved in the plastic surgery and hand surgery communities,holding memberships in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Southeastern Society ofPlastic Surgeons, The Aesthetic Society, American Society for Surgery of the Hand,American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, and American Association for Hand Surgery.She is also a Member of the Lexington Medical Society and volunteers for medical studentcareer education.Outside of her demanding clinical practice, Dr. Henry finds joy in gardening andspending quality time with her family.
