Overview
"Ever since I was a little girl I knew that I wanted a career in medicine. I can't pinpoint an exact moment where I said to myself, ""I want to be a doctor when I grow up."" My father is a microbiologist, and during my formative years, he worked at the University of Utah Hospital in research. I believe that had some influence in my career choice. He was behind the scenes doing research to improve people lives, but I wanted to do so up close and personal. As the oldest of 10 children, I was always a nurturer and caregiver. This also has guided me to the career of medicine, specifically pediatrics. Thinking back as far as I can remember, there was no other path that I wanted to travel. Though it has been a winding path at times, the journey has led to where I know I want to be. It has been a very rewarding career and brings so much joy to my life. What I want my patients to know about me:I strive to provide the best care possible and continue to fight for what my patients need. My passion is the care of newborn infants. Large and small, they all hold a special place in my heart. I will continue to provide care to those babies in Franklin County and the surrounding area that are in need of special help, whether it be due to illness, unexpected complications during labor and delivery, prematurity, or any special need that these infants have. I delight in seeing babies grow, learn and ultimately go home healthy. I understand how it is to be a parent with a child in the hospital. I can empathize you, and I understand the needs that you as parents have also. My goal is to provide excellent care to the babies I am privileged to take care of and also their families. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I spend my time outside of work with family and friends. I have a firecracker preschool-aged child that loves animals and the outdoors. We spend a lot of time picking wildflowers or playing that we are lions, dogs, fish or whatever other animal she can think of. I also enjoy reading a good book and escaping into the pages. Traveling to visit family and friends, as well as exploring new places are other things that I enjoy doing. Seeing the delight on my daughter's face makes it an incredible and rewarding experience.".
