My patient care philosophy is rooted in empathy and addressing the unique needs of all patients. I focus on delivering evidence-based treatments while ensuring clear communications and empowering patients and their families to make informed decisions about their care.|My clinical interests include internal medicine and inpatient hospitalist services.|Why I Love My Work|As a hospitalist, I most value the chance to care for patients and witness their recovery, whether helping them return to their baseline health or something even better. I enjoy the intellectual challenge of solving complex medical problems, navigating detailed diagnoses, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide well-rounded care. The combination of analytical problem-solving and the ability to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients makes my work deeply fulfilling.|Getting to Know Me|Growing up in Somalia, I lived across from a small medical clinic. I saw patients arrive sick and return healthier. On quieter days, I visited the clinic and got to know the medical team. Watching their dedication, compassion and care inspired me and sparked a desire to pursue medicine.|Outside of work, I am passionate about playing soccer and watching matches with friends and family. It helps me stay healthy, relieve stress and feel connected to a sense of community. Watching games also allows me to bond with others and maintain close relationships. In addition to soccer, I love reading books, journals and newspapers. Reading keeps me informed about world affairs, fuels my intellectual curiosity and helps me grow as a person. It's a way to expand my perspective and stay mentally sharp.
