Overview
Pediatrician Dr. Nada Saqer holds certificates in neonatal resuscitation (NRP), basic life support (BLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS). In practice since 2021, she treats patients from birth through age 18 and speaks Arabic. Before completing her medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Sint Maarten, Dr. Saqer earned a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience from Tulane University in New Orleans and a Master of Medical Sciences from Mississippi College in Clinton. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. The decision to become a physician came early for Dr. Saqer. Throughout school she had been interested in science and volunteering in the craft corner at a children’s hospital proved she had a good rapport with young patients, inspiring her to choose pediatrics as a specialty. Dr. Saqer sees patients for all types of pediatric care, including chronic conditions such as asthma and other respiratory problems, as well as growth and development issues. She particularly enjoys taking care of newborns, watching them grow and celebrating each milestone. Her approach to care is to respect her patients and maintain a collaborative relationship with families. She provides children with the best evidence-based options that help them grow and develop a healthy life from babyhood through school age to college. She wants her patients’ families to feel comfortable after visits, find answers to their questions and be confident in seeking care for their children in the future. She also wants parents to see her as a strong advocate who provides the best care possible. The children themselves are the highlight of Dr. Saqer’s practice. She finds that, even when they’re ill, they often have a sassy retort and always display a resilient nature. Dr. Saqer is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Physicians.
