Dr. Naghma Farooqi
Overview
Dr. Naghma Farooqi is an obstetrician and gynecologist. She serves as director for Labor and Delivery at UCSF. Farooqi's research has investigated medical education, sexual education (including as pertains to condom use), treatments for gestational diabetes and issues related to cesarean delivery, including cesarean hysterectomy (uterus removal at the time of a cesarean section). Farooqi earned her medical degree from Fatima Jinnah Women University in Pakistan. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Farooqi is a member of the California Medical Association, Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Texas Medical Association and San Francisco Gynecological Society. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
