Overview
Nate Jowett, M.D., Ph.D., F.R.C.S.C., is a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area whose practice focuses on facial palsy - including Bell’s palsy, facial nerve injury, synkinesis, and smile reanimation - and on facial rejuvenation, including deep plane facelift and neck lift. He cares for patients through the full course of facial weakness, from early recovery to later reconstruction if movement does not return.
Dr. Jowett treats adult and children from across the United States and from abroad for complex facial paralysis reconstruction. He served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School for a decade after medical school at the University of Toronto, residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and doctoral training in Biomedical Engineering at McGill University, and fellowship training at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts Eye and Ear. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Jowett has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, holds a U.S. patent, and has received research support from the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the Charles H. Hood Foundation, and the National Institutes of Health. He is an eight-time Boston Marathon finisher and lives in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area with his wife and six children.
