Rana Hamdy, MD, MSCE, MPH, completed a pediatric residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and a pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 1997, following a visiting lectureship at the Moi University in Eldoret, Kenya. Her research interests include HIV/AIDS drug development and mother-to-child HIV transmission. Dr. Persaud is the scientific chair of the HIV CURE Scientific Committee of the International Maternal, Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials (IMPAACT) group.
