He completed a General Surgery Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Between his second and third years of General Surgery Residency, he was the recipient of a full scholarship for a one-year research fellowship through the University of Illinois at Chicago - School of Medicine. Dr. Kunda then went on to complete a second residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Stony Brook University / Nassau University Medical Center Program. Lastly, Dr. Kunda completed a Fellowship in Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital.Dr. Kunda is Double Board-Certified by both The American Board of Plastic Surgery and The American Board of Surgery. He has over 10 peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research at national meetings throughout the country. Dr. Kunda treats both adults and children and specializes in aesthetic surgery of the face & body, surgery of the hand & upper extremity, cancer reconstruction, peripheral nerve surgery, microsurgery, and complex abdominal wall reconstruction.
