Nicholas Saenz, MD, is a fellowship-trained pediatric surgeon with Atlantic Medical Group, providing surgical care to children from birth to adolescence. Board-certified in surgery and pediatric surgery by the American Board of Surgery, he has comprehensive clinical experience and applies his skills to diagnose, treat, and provide his young patients with the best possible care. Specializing in pediatric surgical oncology, Dr. Saenz is committed to achieving the best outcomes.Dr. Saenz has contributed several book chapters and authored or coauthored many peer-reviewed journal articles, as well as being a presenter at national and international meetings on a variety of topics in pediatric surgery. In addition, he has served as a principal investigator on several oncology research studies and has been a member of the Children’s Oncology Group for many years.After earning his medical degree from University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, MI, Dr. Saenz completed a residency in surgery at New England Deaconess-Harvard Surgical Service, Boston, MA. He was a research fellow in the laboratory of the late M. Judah Folkman, MD, and completed a pediatric surgery fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.Committed to educating and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, Dr. Saenz was a professor of surgery at the University of California, San Diego, for several years before moving to the East Coast. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
