Overview
Dr. Duvall completed her undergraduate education at the University of Virginia and earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Virginia. She practiced as an OB/GYN for 12 years until she determined that being on call every night wasn’t practical for a mother with three young children. She decided to pursue a new area of medicine and completed another residency in psychiatry. She is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Duvall loves being a psychiatrist. She’s fascinated by the ways our brains work and enjoys all areas of psychiatry. She also appreciates how telepsychiatry has expanded her ability to work in a much wider range of locations where she’s needed. In every setting, her approach is to always do the best for every patient. Dr. Duvall moved to Richmond from South Carolina when she was 16. After graduating from medical school, she relocated to Philadelphia where she lived until coming back home to Virginia two years ago. She has three grown children and two amazing grandsons. When she’s not working, Dr. Duvall loves immersing herself in a great book, gardening and baking. She also considers painting her home to be its own form of therapy.
