My passion is working with children and adolescents, especially those who come to Duke for physical health needs but also have mental health challenges. I care for young people dealing with depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism, eating disorders, psychosis, and those who have experienced trauma or difficult life events. My approaches start with building trust relationships, identifying each patient’s strengths, and empowering them on their journey to recovery. I provide both medication treatments and non-medication strategies. It really depends on what works best for each patient. To help our young patients better, we need teamwork - patients, their family, and our multidisciplinary team members all working together. This collaboration is the key to achieving the best outcomes. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also like gardening, especially growing roses and other flowers. Caring for the plants and patiently waiting for them to bloom brings me a lot of joy.
