Amy Hajari Case, M.D., FCCP, received her undergraduate degree from Birmingham-Southern College and earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2005. She completed her internal medicine residency and pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Hajari Case was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. She holds board certifications in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease and internal medicine. She is a member of the American Thoracic Society and a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Hajari Case specializes in the diagnosis and management of patients with interstitial lung diseases. She leads a monthly support group for patients with pulmonary fibrosis in Austell, and she is on the steering committee for the ACCP Interstitial and Diffuse Lung Disease NetWork. She is the Director of the Interstitial Lung Disease Program and Research department at Piedmont Physicians Georgia Lung. Brion J. Lock, M.D., graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Mich. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Mich. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Lock was chosen to serve as chief resident for one year after completion of his internal medicine residency in 2002. He stayed at UAB to complete his pulmonary and critical care fellowship and served as chief fellow during his final year of training.Dr. Lock is described as hard working and passionate about the practice of medicine. His colleagues consider him to be very energetic and industrious with regard to patient care. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Lock was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates for 7 years. Following his residency, Dr. Kandaswamy completed a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Dr. Kandaswamy is board certified in pulmonary medicine, internal medicine and critical care. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians Group, Dr. Kandaswamy was in practice at the PAPP Clinic. His special interests include critical care, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema, asthma and allergies. Dr. Kandawamy is a member of the America College of Chest Physicians, the Southern Medical Association and the American Medical Association.
