Dr. Petro commonly cares for babies with jaundice (a high level of bilirubin which can cause yellowing of the skin), low blood sugar and breathing problems.Her clinical interests include stabilizing newborns immediately after delivery, diagnosing and treating jaundice during the newborn period, and performing routine newborn procedures. Dr. Petro enjoys facilitating newborn care as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes therapists and other newborn team members.It is important to me to treat every patient — and their family — with compassion and respect, and to take the time to understand their unique situation.
