Overview
Philosophy of care | My foundation to great care is rooted in an ability to provide rapid, skilled and evidence-based treatments while preserving your dignity and humanity. In moments of crisis, I aim to balance both decisive action and compassion. Emergencies affect both patients and their families, so I also offer information, reassurance and empathy to those who stand at the bedside. I am guided by a commitment to dignity, respect and empathy, even in the most urgent circumstances. In the chaos of resuscitations and critical illness, I prioritize the human connection – whether holding a hand, explaining a difficult choice, or simply ensuring that a patient and their family feels seen and heard. | Why I entered medicine | My family was very active with our small town's volunteer fire department, so I grew up wanting to serve my community as well. The experience sparked my path into emergency medical services and led me to become a paramedic, providing opportunities to refine my clinical skills and my capacity for empathy. The unpredictability of the trauma and emergency setting constantly challenges me, pushing me to think quickly and adapt when seconds matter. To me, this profession is so much more than saving lives; it's establishing connections and helping in vulnerable moments. | Community involvement | Most of my community involvement intersects with the emergency services world. I've worked as an adjunct faculty member at Luzerne County Community College with their EMS Program since 2016. I love teaching our students in both the EMT and paramedic programs. I also work shifts at both Wilkes-Barre City Fire & EMS and TransMed Ambulance companies. | Personal interests | I enjoy time with my family and our three cats. On days off you'll find me in the kitchen trying a new dinner recipe or baking sweet treats! I love traveling and finding new places to explore.
